Getting started
Introduction
What PixelVerse Forms is, the two kinds of forms, and what happens the moment someone presses submit.
PixelVerse Forms is a hosted form backend with a visual builder on top. Point any form at one endpoint, or build one in the browser, and every response is stored, spam-checked and emailed to you with Reply-To set to the person who sent it. You answer by hitting reply.
Two kinds of forms
| Builder form | API form | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it lives | Hosted at https://forms.pixelverse.tech/f/your-slug, embeddable | Your own markup, on your own site or app |
| Fields | Designed in the builder, validated on both sides | Schema-less: send any keys |
| Design | Theme presets, fonts, custom CSS, logo | Yours entirely |
| Inbox, emails, webhooks, analytics | Included | Included |
Both kinds land in the same inbox, send the same emails and share the same spam protection. Most workspaces end up with a mix: hosted forms for things like RSVPs and applications, API forms for the contact form that already lives in the website.
What happens on submit
- 1The request is checked
Rate limits run per IP and per email. The honeypot field is inspected. Builder forms are validated against their rules on the server.
- 2The response is stored
Along with approximate location, device, browser, referrer and any UTM tags. It appears in the inbox as unread.
- 3Emails go out
A notification to you with Reply-To set to the sender, and an optional confirmation to them. Both use your templates and branding.
- 4Your webhook is called
If one is configured, a JSON payload is POSTed to it. Spam never triggers emails or webhooks.
